CURRICULUM

The Nueva Valencia National High School is implementing the 2010 Secondary Education Curriculum (SEC) operating under R.A. 9155 for the First Year. From the second year to the fourth year the curriculum is still patterned from the Secondary Education Curriculum which the School has been piloting for the past four years.

The curriculum focuses on essential understanding, standard based, stimulates students multiple intelligences towards lifelong learning. In totality the curriculum is centered on understanding by design.

The Career Pathways in Technology and Livelihood Education is being implemented not only in the first year but in all year levels since the school has piloted the said curriculum for four years.  Students were given various options as to what specialization they would choose but due to limited number of teachers to handle the subject, Only Handicraft for male students and Food & Food Services for female students were catered. However there is one male student in the fourth year who preferred food and food services.

NVNHS offers the Alternative Learning Center (ALS)..
Out-of-school youths can take the Alternative Learning System program in the Department of Education. There is like a training for 10 months or so, then the next year, the youth can take the Accreditation & Equivalency Test. If the youth passes the test, then the youth gets something which is equivalent to a highschool diploma.
